My final project was inspired by a picture in the Barbados Museum of Colonel Sir. Fredrick James Clark K.C.M.G, who was the speaker of The Barbados House Of Assembly in 1898.
Sir. Fredrick James Clark uniform capture my attention and my ideas for my final project evolve from that connecting to the Garrison. the uniform became a reference to marching and the annual parade at the Garrison. Then i went a step further by using symbols. i choose shoe prints to represent this by repeating patterns of shoe prints broken down in to sections and different shoe print to represent each section of a local parade.

allen mc collum
Allen Mccollun is a contemporary American artist born in Los Angeles. Allen work for 40 year exploring how objects achieve public and individual meaning in the world. this he does by doing enormous mas productions. his work to me was strongly influence by him first working in a factory which help evolve his ideas and perception of individuality standing with others to create a space of similarities. his work transition form shapes to 3d objects to patterns shows his evolution as a artist.
his work has also help me in my class project in overstanding the importance thinking and taking my work from step 1 to 10 . look over concepts and ideas to build a stronger relationship with my work and most importantly the growth of it conbine with me as a person.

mark bradford
this art piece by mark Bradford is one that the objects (speakers)use say it all in my opinion. it is a very ''loud'' illustration, and stands tall & strong. the first thing that cross my mind was a street party. I've also ask 10 friend their view on it &all was taken back to street parties or fetes. after talking about this illustration for a half hour, with lots of debates, it has actually inspire some friend and i to go in st. laurance gap to party.
juts go to how a piece of art can take a person places literally & figuratively.
mark bradford
mark Bradford a young America artist work always seem to take me back to new york life because of his urban way of creating his work. evrytime i c his work it put me back to the top platform of a train where graffiti is all over & all around on large scale. also rite outside prospect park train station there are also similar paintings.
i also like his unique style & and large scales.
i think his grid like abstract painting combine with collage are really creative. the most amazing thing about his work to me is how the combination of many pieces can be so strong and as an individual piece not as powerful. his thought proses to his work also shows in his work to be very strong.

kara walker

Kara Walker, this silhouette i love because of the way it challenge u (the viewer) to interpret the artist reason r story line. even tho the relationship is some what disconnection (to me) in terms of the paintings & characters it is still connected as a hole piece, by color & the movement of children.
the repetition of children n the piece give me the idea of child hood days or a sense of community atmosphere. also use of color black &white supports the piece very well in giving a strong message. the size of Kara piece also works well with capturing the audience & channeling a person thought to relate to it.
for me the center panel of the painting give me a sense of direction of the movement of the silhouette but then can almost be contradicted in the last panel where there's a footpath moving in a opposite direction.

for who the bell tolls
still in the process of reading the book & so far its really not my kind of book, but trying to understand how it was a top selling book of its time isn't hard. ddeath is a the primary preoccupation of the book. when Robert is assigned to blow up the bridge he knows it can very well be the end of his own life. funny enough almost all the main characters of the novel contemplate their own death.
'for some strange reason' the novel keep putting my thought on Revelation "the last book of the bible" & suicide boomers. guess am translating the book in my own way to present times & future time to come.
